This location is run to the highest standards of safety and cleanliness. It is equipped with age appropriate rooms and we encourage children to develop at their own pace with developmentally differentiated activities. We provide a truly happy environment for your child to grow and learn.

  • Healthy eating FDA accredited food program

  • Transportation to Winchester Elementary and bus transport to Rosa Parks ISOM, Northeast and Douglas MacArthur.

  • Meals served: breakfast, am snack, lunch, pm snack, dinner and bedtime snack

  • All teachers receive Universal Precautions, First Aid, CPR, Foundations to the Indiana Academics Standards as well as in-service training appropriate to the children’s age level.

  • CCDF vouchers accepted

Ages: 6 weeks to 12 years

Holidays Observed: We are closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day

Programs:

We use a theme based program to meet the needs of all children. On a daily basis we incorporate language (written and oral), fine and gross motor skills, art, music, math, discovery, science, social studies, manners and self help skills. All are appropriate for each age group

  • Infant (6 weeks to walking at 12/15 months)

  • Younger Toddlers (Completely walking to 24 months)

  • Older Toddlers (24 months to 36 months)

  • Pre-School (3-4 years)

  • Pre-Kindergarten (4-5 years)

  • Before & After School Programs (5-12 years)

  • Summer & School Break Camps (5-12 years)

​The activities at the location are designed to build a child’s social, emotional, mental and physical development while encouraging independence.

We base our pre-school year on a curriculum called the Creative Curriculum. The activities we plan for children, the way we organize the environments, select toys and materials, plan daily schedules, talk with the children, are all designed to accomplish the goals of our Creative Curriculum.

Director

Clara Rogers

Clara is a dedicated, highly qualified child care professional holding a dual certificate in early Childhood and Elementary Education from Western Illinois University. She has been our location as Director at Greenwood since 2006. Clara holds certificates in Food Safety Professionals, Inclusive Child Care in Indiana and is certified to give classes in Foundations to the Indiana Academic Standards for Young Children.

Clara has tirelessly worked for and been awarded substantial early learning improvement grants for her location. She also participates in a level advancement project with Pathways to Quality. The list of her professional development training, in-service hours and conferences is endless.

Clara has been in the child care business for over 27 years, and alongside husband Glenn has proudly raised three of their own children as well as several foster children. She is devoted to making Academy of Learning Greenwood the best and happiest learning environment possible.
